Method 1: Unhide Rows Using the Arrows

In the first step, go to the Google sheet that has hidden rows and you want to unhide them.

The next step is clicking on the arrows. In the row heading, you will see a couple of up and down arrows below and above the hidden rows. To unhide the hidden rows, click on any row from up or down.

For instance, you will see hidden rows appear while clicking any of the highlighted arrows.

Method 2: Unhide Rows By Selecting Unhide Rows

Open a new sheet or go to the existing sheet with hidden rows.

Next, you will need to choose the rows with data. For this, you have to drag the cursor from the row heading and choose all the rows having data.

Now, on the selected row heading, right-click somewhere and choose Unhide rows option from the menu. Once you do it, all the hidden rows will appear instantly.

Method 3: Unhide Rows By Pressing CTRL + SHIFT + 9

Similar to the earlier methods, open a new sheet or go to the existing sheet with hidden rows. Drag your cursor and choose the row headers.

Now, simply press down the shortcut keys CTRL + SHIFT + 9. Once the operation is done, you will see all the hidden rows get back into the sheet.

Method 4: Unhide Rows By Filters

Filters could be a reason when you don’t see some data in the sheet. Sometimes, rows get hidden because of filters. Sheets don’t indicate anything about hidden data as in the option of Unhide rows or arrows in row heading. You can check out the hidden rows’ presence by looking at row headings for any missing row numbers other than arrows.

In this case, you can see rows 2 and 4 are missing without any arrows that clearly show these rows are hidden by filters. You simply have to disable the filter view so that all the hidden data come up in the sheet once again.

For this, click on the Remove Filter icon to disable all the filters applied to the sheet. Once done, you will now see all the filtered and unfiltered rows.

On the other hand, you can even click on Data and choose the Remove filter option. Doing this will also remove all the filters applied on the sheet and all the rows will appear once again.

How to Turn Off Filters

If filters trouble you again and again, you can turn them off by following some easy steps. If you are sure about the reason behind hidden rows is the application of filters and you don’t want them to be there, you can remove them to get your hidden rows back.

Here is how to unhide rows in Google sheets by removing filters:

From the menu bar, click on the Data option

Hit the option that says “Turn off filter”.

By turning off the filter, all the filters will be removed from the sheet and you will be able to see all the hidden rows in the sheet.

On the other hand, from the toolbar, by simply clicking on the “Turn off filter” icon you can directly turn off the filters.
